About the Host
Some background on me…
I’m a Southern California native with a 15-year history on the client side of brand marketing in industries like action sports, entertainment & movies, and digital tech. Though my experiences have been amazing, I sometimes felt like the square peg in a round hole. It has taken me this long to finally figure out–or come to terms–with the fact that I’m an entrepreneur. No wonder…
After talking to lots of people over the span of my career, many of whom are perfectly content working for The Man, I’m convinced that it’s in our blood. That is, being an entrepreneur is either in your DNA or it isn’t. If you’re in this category, you know exactly what I mean…
Blessing or Curse?
It’s been both at times….but never dull.
In some ways you could say that Behind the Brand and other projects coming soon have been 15 years in the making…I have spent hundreds of hours over the years in and out of the studio, on photo shoots and behind the scenes of some of the biggest brands. This time I’m in front of the camera and having a blast. Nothing is formulaic, nothing is being phoned in. Behind the Brand is about delivering problem-solving content for small business owners and entrepreneurs made by an entrepreneur–me. All of the questions I’ve had (and still have) about running a successful business will be explored here. Sound like fun? Okay, I’ve never been good at conventional anything…
It’s a work in progress but here’s my evolving list “To Do” before I die:
1. Find the love of my life
2. Marry and start a family with the love of my life
3. Find my biological mom and dad
4. Become financially independent by following my passion
5. Become fluent in a foreign language
6. Learn to wheelie a motorcycle
7. Own a vacation cabin in Yosemite National Park
8. Quit working for The Man and start my own business
9. Produce, direct and star in my own TV show.
10. Write a book (or two)
11. Be written about in a New York Times best selling book
12. Train my dogs to obey me
13. Train my children to obey me
14. Sing lead in a (cool) band
15. Take my wife to Paris
16. Meet and interview my favorite author, Seth Godin
17. Overcome my irrational fear of sharks
